An international conference on "Central Asia as a hub of higher education" has started in Tashkent
The event was opened by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrahim Abdurahmanov.
The minister said that in recent years, special attention has been paid to increasing the quality of education and coverage of higher education. More than 100 new higher education institutions were established in the last five years. Four years ago, only 7 foreign universities were operating in Uzbekistan, but now there are 30 of them.
Rector of Namangan Engineering and Construction Institute Sharifjon Ergashev is also participating in the international conference.
