On June 14, 2021, public yoga classes were held at the Namangan Engineering and Construction Institute on the eve of the International Yoga Day.
Dozens of young people who expressed interest in yoga classes gathered in the gym of the institute. They were welcomed by NamMQI Rector and Director of the Cultural Center at the Embassy of India, Prof. CHandr Shekhar.
According to Mr. Shekhar, the Yoga Federation was established in Uzbekistan in 2020 at the initiative of the head of state. Now more than 1000 people are practicing yoga in the courses organized at the Indian Cultural Center in Tashkent alone. They are coached by coaches from India and their local students.
"On the eve of the International Day of Yoga, celebrated on June 21, we held such public yoga classes in all regions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. I would like to express my gratitude to the management of the institute, who helped to hold the event in Namangan at a high level," says CHandr Shekhar.
